Struggling to setup LXD based NCP on Step 6.2

Hey, I’ve been trying to setup my new LXD based NCP but I struggle with step 6.2. After executing

lxc storage volume attach ncp ncpdata nextcloudpi /opt

(I have skipped step4). I’m getting an

Error: Failed add validation for device "ncpdata": Failed to get storage pool "ncp": Storage pool not found

Is it possible that I do need to create some sort of storage beforhand as in step4 explained?
(Why I skipped step4 for now)

Let me quote the beginning of point 6.
"(Skip if you skipped 4.) "

So if you skipped point 4, point 6 won’t work.
