Summary of the issue you are facing:

Starting a few months ago, maybe about 5 or 6, my firefox installation has been having a strange issue with my NextCloud, that my Edge Browser does not have. Whenever I type the URL for the NextCloud, it hangs for like 10 to 20 seconds, and then the login prompt appears.

Firefox version: 133.0.3 Windows 64bit.

It’s not Cloudflare, as I have my local DNS pointing directly to the reverse proxy when I type my domain name instead of going to the Internet for improved performance. Plus, accessing it through another PC outside my home with a Chromium based browser is fine. Speedy.

Edge Browser does not have thing hang. It goes right away.

Also happens on my laptop with Linux/Firefox installed. Same Firefox Version (minus it’s the Linux Native one)

Is it a known issue with NextCloud and Firefox right now?

Hello,

I’ve also noticed issues with Firefox when using Nextcloud, although in a slightly different situation. In my case, it happens during screen sharing – Firefox behaves unexpectedly, and some functions, such as video transmission, get interrupted.

I’m using the Linux version of Firefox, so I haven’t had the chance to test this on Windows. Interestingly, when I use Brave for the same tasks, everything works flawlessly.

It seems that Firefox currently has some limitations when interacting with Nextcloud. If anyone has experienced a similar issue or knows of a solution, I’d be glad to hear about it.

Slight update:

Recently changed my reverse proxy server to Arch/Linux-Hardened with Nginx Version 1.26.2.

This did not fix the error with firefox, it did boost performance though.

Cannot confirm with ff v133.0.3 on macOS 15.2
