Is it just me to is there something missing here lig “check for updates” and what channel i want to receive updates from?
Anyone know why this happened and what to do?
What way did you choose to install? Are there some manipulating addons in your browser (like ad-blocker, no-script or similar)? What NC version is installed? Is there anything in the logs? Nobody is able to help you without more information…

It’s also possible to disable the updater. Share your redacted config.php in a new topic.
