SnappyMail/Contacts addressbook integration

Greetings,

I have just installed Nextcloud 30.0.5 on Ubuntu 24.04LTS and enabled and configured the Snappymail app.

Everything is working fine, except I cannot find any way to integrate Snappymail and the core Nextcloud Contacts app as follows:

  1. when I get an email from someone, add his name and address in the Nextcloud Contacts, without having to copy and paste or retype it manually.
  2. When I open a contact details in the Contact app, have a direct way to send him an email with Snappymail, without switching app and typing his address in Snappymail

I assume this must be possible in some way, as it is a basic feature of any kind of “personal information manager”, isn’t it?

If I’m wrong… I’m also open to patches/workaround like cron jobs of any kind that synchronize the two address books every day or so.

Thanks in advance for any pointer!

Hi,

When I used rainloop app a long time ago, there were an option to automatically save unknown email address in default addressbook.
Is there a way to recover this option ?

Jeleb

by “default addressbook”, you mean the addressbook of rainloop, or the actual “Contacts” addressbook of Nextcloud? In any case, I see no such option in Snappymail now…

Yes, you got the option in Rainloop, not in Snappymail. I could save emails in “contacts” addressbook of Nextcloud.

As snappymail is a fork of rainloop, it should be possible to do this
