*** faces app: 4.0.0-dev.1**

Summary of the issue you are facing:

The photos app shows the overview for faces, so this here:
apps/photos/faces/2005

But when I click on a single photo, there is this “clock” rotating and shortly I can see some blank boxes, but then no picture is shown. Restarted the server already. No errors thrown otherwise in the protocol.

Apps are all updated, docker container for nextcloud is up to date.
Here is the html code of the site: https://pastebin.com/P9udzaqJ

I deactivated photos app, but it seems I cannot delete it completely. Repair script for the database is also finished without error.

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. Click on face in photos app.

Log entries

Nextcloud

Please provide the log entries from your Nextcloud log that are generated during the time of problem (via the Copy raw option from Administration settings->Logging screen or from your nextcloud.log located in your data directory). Feel free to use a pastebin/gist service if necessary.

The output of occ config:list system or similar is best, but, if not possible, the contents of your config.php file from /path/to/nextcloud is fine (make sure to remove any identifiable information!):

Tips for increasing the likelihood of a response

  • Use the preformatted text formatting option in the editor for all log entries and configuration output.
  • If screenshots are useful, feel free to include them.
    • If possible, also include key error output in text form so it can be searched for.
  • Try to edit log output only minimally (if at all) so that it can be ran through analyzers / formatters by those trying to help you.

It sounds like the Photos app’s face view is loading but individual photos aren’t displaying due to a possible frontend or API issue. Since no errors appear in logs and you’re on the latest Nextcloud and app versions, I’d recommend:

Clear your browser cache or try another browser.

Check the browser console/network tab for any failed requests or errors.

Verify file permissions inside the container or on the server.

Try disabling conflicting apps like facerecognition temporarily.

If possible, test with a clean Nextcloud instance or rollback the Photos app.

Hopefully one of these helps pinpoint the problem!
