The issue you are facing:
I am fairly new to all of this, but through videos and forums, I had a functional instance on my local network for a few months. After getting comfortable with that, I got cocky and tried to make my instance accessible from outside my network with a domain - I then tried to access Nextcloud server remotely and it didn’t work - I also tried to access it via the localhost and I would get an “Internal Server Error” on the screen with it telling me to check the error log. After searching the forums and trying different stuff to fix this, I am now getting a 404 error and I can’t get anything else to come up. Any kind of help anyone can give to get my Nextcloud back online without having to erase anything (I have photos, videos and files stored in the file system that I don’t want to risk losing) would be greatly appreciated. Steps to replicate it:
- Try to make your Nextcloud server accessible from outside your network
- Fail.
- Lose access to your server altogether.
