We are interested in self-hosting Nextcloud Server. After going through the documentation at Download and install Nextcloud, we noticed that self-hosting Nextcloud does not involve any costs apart from the costs we have to pay for our cloud service provider. Am I correct on this or there are other costs we need to consider when self-hosting?
That is correct. NextCloud initially costs nothing. You just need a server (at home or rented in a data center). Updates and security issues are entirely up to you. So you have to take care of everything, the topic of backup is also interesting. NextCloud then allows up to 500 users (see fair use policy) if you use the push services. After that a alert is shown on every site I mean. But 500 users is a big number for normal home users is it perfect
