See calendar from another nextcloud instance with authentication

Nextcloud version (eg, 20.0.5): 22.2.0
Operating system and version (eg, Ubuntu 20.04): docker nextcloud

The issue you are facing: Not really an issue, but looking for a feature

Is it possible to integrate a calendar from a foreign separate nextcloud instance? I want to see the foreign calendar in my private nextcloud.

In the calendar app I tried to add a calendar by β€œNew Abo from link (read-only)”, but this does only work, if I publish the calendar on the foreign instance which I do NOT want.

Is there a way to add the foreign one with authentication without publishing it?

Thanks for your time in advance.

Oliver

I do have the same (?) question on how to get a calendar of one NextCloud instance to be used by the calendar app of another NC instance?
Adding: What would finally be the difference of federating and publishing?
(In the end I want an authenticated use and also would prefer editing possible over read-only. As I have with local clients (as Thunderbird or on my phone).)
