It also supports blueprint.json files, which makes it possible to preconfigure the environment, install modules, and prepare test scenarios more easily.
This may be useful for testing, workshops, onboarding, documentation examples, and quick experimentation.
wow, well done, that’s a nice idea… just not sure if this is the right place for the Nextcloud Playground, since the folks using the forum are usually interested in self-hosting and specifically aim to install and run their own server.
maybe this is better placed in the “general” section and we’d need to ping some folks from the company to see if this is an interesting concept for them. so I’ll move this to the general section.
I originally posted it in the Development category because the blueprint.json support is mainly intended to create reproducible environments for development and testing.
For example, in the nextcloud-exelearning plugin ( GitHub - exelearning/nextcloud-exelearning: eXeLearning for Nextcloud · GitHub ), we’re using it to quickly spin up a complete environment to validate pull requests automatically, and also to provide contributors with a ready-to-use instance where they can immediately see how the plugin works without having to install and configure Nextcloud first.
That said, I agree that the General category will give it much better visibility. Thanks for moving it!
