I should clarify that: I uploaded a file, say recipe.pdf, generated by LaTeX, created a file share by link, made some changes to recipe.pdf, uploaded this changed recipe.pdf via the web interface, and without warning the share link had changed.
On other software, e.g. Dropbox, [I think] this procedure wouldn’t change the share link.
I would like to bump this question! We use version 29.0.9 and would like to know how to circumvent this behavior, if it’s indeed by design in NextCloud. Thanks.
I can imagine situations where this could be the desired behaviour (having a share referencing the exact version that has been shared). - However, then I would propose to have an option on sharing, whether exact file version should be shared or if it should be a link to the “recent” version and always remain a link to the recent version.
That said, I am on 30.0.6 and tested with a simple Markdown file plus a PDF also that I updated. I am unable to reproduce your problem. Share remains and link goes to the most recent version.
