Reset User Account

I would like to completely reset my user account. I activated end-to-end encryption some time ago, then deactivated it again and can no longer find my keys. I still have full access to my data, I only encrypted one folder at the time. Now I would like to encrypt my entire account end-to-end, but without the old key from back then, I am no longer offered the option of encrypting further folders.

What is the best way to proceed? I have a backup of the data in the account and there are no active shared links or folders. Do I simply delete the account and create it again (with the same user name) or is there a gentler method?

Thx & Bye P

There is a reset option under Personal settings->Security in the Web UI: GitHub - nextcloud/end_to_end_encryption: 🔐 Server API to support End-to-End Encryption

Obviously make sure you have your encrypted folder contents backed up outside of Nextcloud somewhere.

Thanks but it doesn’t help at all, I can’t activate the E2E encryption on any folder. Not even with a new user. I get the message that the folders are not yet fully synchronized but the clients and the WebGUI show me a fully synchronized status without conflicts.

I have now installed PHP 8.3 on my server and updated Nextcloud and the desktop clients to the latest version but the problem remains:

The folder has a minor sync problem. Encryption of this folder will be possible once it has synced successfully

I get no mnemonic at all after activating E2E encryption and I am not asked for a passphrase. Nothing happens at all. Not even with a newly created user.

System: Debian 11
PHP: 8.3
NC: 29.0.4
Desktop Client: 3.13.0 (Mac)

Thx in advance & Bye CD

“The folder has a minor sync problem. Encryption of this folder will be possible once it has synced successfully”.
This error started happening to me too - I cannot create a new folder under the synced folder and make it encrypted via RC.

Nextcloud desktop client 3.13.2 (Windows).
Server version: 29.0.5
