Some or all of the below information will be requested if it isn’t supplied; for fastest response please provide as much as you can

Nextcloud version (eg, 20.0.5): 26.0.0
Operating system and version (eg, Ubuntu 20.04): 20.04
Apache or nginx version (eg, Apache 2.4.25): NGINX 2.9.19
PHP version (eg, 7.4): 8.0.25

The issue you are facing:
We unfortunately had to let our NextCloud subscription expire due to budget constraints. Now we get a periodic email saying it is expired. I can not find a way to remove the subscription key to go back to unlicensed version.
In the GUI, I only see an option to update the key and set a new one. Is there a default “unlicensed” key that I should enter?

In occ command line, I did an “occ config:list” to dump all the settings. I only see our key in the “updater.server.url” value. Should this value be updated to remove the key?

Or is there another command to clear the key?

Thank you for any guidance.

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Y/N): Y

Steps to replicate it:

this is the default URL:

If you can manage keys in the interface, this is either something from an option in the config file or there is a special app that isn’t in the version without license. If you had a subscription, you might want to ask them directly.

Thank you. I’ll set ‘updater.server.url’ to that value to remove key portion of it and see how things go.
