Hello all,
for reasons of age I want to transfer the care for my Nextcloud instance to a hosting provider. I have the following goals and non-goals:
No Talk or office
1 TB Storage is sufficient
App Store Access
A purely european solution with german or english support
scriptable Access to backups
The last point is important because I have a reliable backup system in place and want to integrate the nextcloud there ( a time lag is acceptable ) and of course I dont want a vendor lock in. The important data is
the data directory
a database dump
the config.php
Any ideas ? I am already aware of wolkesicher.de which are very close, but their access to backup is not scriptable (except in the real expensive plans).
I donât think youâll find what youâre looking for. Because as a rule, when you hand over the administration, you donât get that kind of access.
We offer Managed Nextcloud, and with that, we take care of the complete administration of the Nextcloud, including the backup.
At that price point, only Hetzner comes to mind, but you wonât get access to the points you mentioned there either.
I think it will be hard to find a solution with such âspecialâ requirements at this price. If you consider simple 1TB storage ranks at 5-6-7$/month at cheap providers there is almost no room to for added value like managing Nextcloud managing APIs and offering support.
The price tag rather matches highly automated and scaled products like Hetzner Storage Share. otherwise read through the posts in this category we have many similar discussions (youâll have to check yourself for backup scriptability)
You have to be realist about your request ! You canât expect to pay $20/month for 1To with such accesses !
Here I donât give access at backups at customers as it always ends up with a mess. We have a backup system that runs every night and itâs perfect like that.
As itâs hosted in regular hosting account, you have access at all files but if you break the NC, youâll be charged to get it fixed
Try looking at cloudamo - Iâve used them for a few years and they are good. I do backups from a machine at my house using rclone, but cloudamo gives me command line access, so maybe you could do what you want. Not sure on this.
