Running NCPi on Raspberry Pi 4b, I encountered a package error during apt upgrade which looked very similar to the one described here:

Unfortunately, instead of performing the solution giving there, I rebooted the device, rendering the SD card unbootable.

Is there a way to replicate the actions that the steps following

armbian upgrade

would do “from external” on the SD card to make the existing system bootable again, or do I need to reflash a new image?

Solved, at least got it workable again!

I copied the SD card RPICFG partition, where there were quite a few files missing, from a fresh image. That allowed me to boot and run the commands above (armbian-upgrade wasn’t available, but the rest worked). Not sure how viable the resulting configuration is now, but it’s running for now, and more importantly, I have most recent backups now.
