Readme.md updates

The Basics

  • Nextcloud Server version (e.g., 31.0.8):
    • 31.0.8
  • Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 24.04):
    • Debian 13

Summary of the issue you are facing:

Readme.md application is not compatible with 31.0.9. Can we expect it will be updated, or is there any alternative for it? I’m using it mainly because the Readme.md is showing on public shares, and this is how i handle family shares of pictures

Apps

Thanks for any help

This is not an official Nextcloud app therefore you need to ask the developer of the app to provide an updated version. For me it looks like the latest supported version is v29.x

Thanks! Yes, i have seen that the latest compatible NC is the 29, but it is running already on 31.0.8, so i wonder how and why.

Are there any alternatives which are compatible with 31.0.9?

Hello @horvathcsabalaszlo,

welcome to the Nextcloud community! :handshake:

Looks like the app is abandond. No code changes this year and open issues about compatibility for NC30 and newer.

See

Thx! I also think it’s abandoned. But are there any possibilities to make any description appear on public shares? Or even photo titles?

Is there any way to enable an incompatible app after upgrade? Will “ sudo -u www-data php occ app:enable app_id --force “ work?

There is a reason why apps are marked as incompatible. The app is three major versions behind.

You can try it, but don’t complain if your Nextcloud then causes problems.
