Maintenance releases of 28.0.8 and 29.0.4 are coming next Thursday and RCs for those are now available on our download server.

As always, help with testing is very much welcome!

We updated our servers, did our tests, and the release candidates seem pretty decent. Still, give it a whirl and report back here so weā€™re even more sure that itā€™s good to go! If you notice anything out of order, please report back on the appropriate Github repository! :bowing_woman:

Thanks! Looks like a lot of good work going into all this.

Had a slight snag in the backup phase, but then got it to continue. This may just be a problem with my test system; Iā€™m not sure. Also having problems accepting federated chat shares (I see the accept button but clicking it doesnā€™t seem to do anything ā€“ between 29.0.3 and 29.0.4RC1 with latest Talk app), but although Iā€™ve never had a problem with chat federation, Iā€™ve had problems with file federation, so Iā€™m not sure if thatā€™s another one on me (e.g. my configuration, etc.) These were just some quick experiments and Iā€™ll have to look into them in more detail later.

If your test system is on the same host, you have to add an option in the config.php:
'allow_local_remote_servers' => true,

Feel free to open a new topic, tag it with beta and give a few more details. If it is something you are relatively sure it is a bug (e.g. because it was working before), you might check directly in the corresponding github repository.
