Random symbols in overwrite.cli.url in config.php nextcloudpi

Hi,
Since a couple of days my Nextcloudpi installation is broken. It was running well for over a year. I think it might have something to do with an automatic update. If I look in my config.php file I see that the overwrite.cli.url is completely filled up with seemlingly random symbols. A lot of symbols. And the stream of random symbols it is ending with the message

’ E^T^EP^BConsole command **‘OCA\PreviewGenerator\Command\Generate'** is unknown and could not be loaded’

It took me at least 15 min. to delete all the symbols again, but when I reboot my Nexcloudpi instance, it just is back again. Because of this my Nextcloud gives an internal server error.

Did anyone have similar problem?

I run nextcloudpi version 1.54.2.

Thanks!

being a snap user not having Nextcloudpi experience, but recognising the symptoms you’ve mentioned, that sounds very much like this issue with the ‘Preview generator app’.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick response. Somehow the link to the issue doesn’t work. Could you repost it? Thank you!

sorry, typo… link fixed above :face_with_peeking_eye:

Hi,
I managed to disable the previewgenerator and deleted the preview folder. That already helped a lot and stopped creating these enormous strings of random symbols in my config file. When I try to do some of the clean up commands in the terminal I noticed when entering occ commands it stil shows small strings of random symbols. Could it be possible that there are still some other files corrupted?
See example below of an occ command and the output:

[xxxx@nextcloudpixxx]$ sudo -u www-data php /var/www/nextcloud/occ files:scan-app-data
