I tested the new “request files” (Create file request) and it is very cool. Now i can collect files from different users with public shares. Thank you very much for this nice feature. Maybe Nextcloud 30 will bring many other great features. But for file sharing, this is my highlight.
But I have an immediate question of understanding. If I now create a link, the other person has to write his name or something to identify him, which then creates a subfolder for the shared folder where the files are then stored. So far so good.
But if I now specify a user, this is cached at the client (cookie?). I would now like to know how long this storage is valid.
Another question is the behaviour for further shares. If I share a second folder, the user is apparently recognised again and the same “user name” and the name for the folder is used. It is even the case that a user is not asked for when another Nextcloud user creates a “file request” and shares it to the same user without Nextcloud account. Is this really the desired behaviour? Perhaps it would be possible to display the user name used and change it at every use or with new file request.
I would be very pleased to receive some information on this really important function.
You can find infos to the function here. Search " Request files".
