Problems logging in with the iPhone App

Hello. First time and freshly installed Nextcloud server (snap on ubuntu VM on ESXi) here and it is exposed to the internet. However, when I tried to log into the iPhone app, it stuck on the “please complete the log-in process in your browser” screen after successfully logging in with 2FA and granting access. Please see the screenshots for details.

What I’ve tried so far:

  1. Tried different browsers. The first thing I thought was that I needed Safari since I set Edge as default but same result.
  2. Tried different networks. I was on LTE celluar network initially and I switched to wifi for better connectivity, but no luck, either,
  3. Tried on my secondary Android phone, worked like a charm.
  4. Tried closing app and restart

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Bump. :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart:

Buuuuuuuuump. :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart: Please help.

@Terredise, thanks for you patience…

this is a hunch since I have no devices like yours to test and judging by the replies you’re getting, no one else has any ideas.

so remove that device and try logging in again:

Thank you for the reply, @scubamuc! Funny you mentioned patience because I ran out of it really quick, lol.

I tested it on two additional iOS devices, and it behaved the same way, but all Android devices worked. I thought since nobody else is mentioning anything like this, I just decided to set up another VM and use AIO instead of the snap installation. Everything is working as intended with AIO and the reverse proxy set up is way less complicated than it appears.

Thanks again!

if you’re suggesting a Nextcloud snap issue possibly a bug, I’d suggest opening an issue with the snap team… but I’m more prone to a network issue in connection with you’re reverse proxy.

oh im not suggesting it’s a possible bug at all. I believe iOS has a more strict cert policy or it could just be something I didn’t fully configure but AIO did it for me. Thanks again for helping!
