Tips for increasing the likelihood of a response

  • Use the preformatted text formatting option in the editor for all log entries and configuration output.
  • If screenshots are useful, feel free to include them.
    • If possible, also include key error output in text form so it can be searched for.
  • Try to edit log output only minimally (if at all) so that it can be ran through analyzers / formatters by those trying to help you.

Hi @nemprinter,

both log lines are the same thing:

RedisException: Connection refused from Redis->pconnect() in RedisFactory.php.

The second one only carries the webdav tag because it happened to fire during an upload, it is not a separate problem. Your Nextcloud simply cannot reach its Redis server.

Redis is your file locking and memcache backend, so while it is down nothing that needs a lock will work: no app updates, no desktop sync, no uploads, all at once. This is not caused by the 34.0.0 to 34.0.1 point release either, that does not touch Redis. It just means redis-server is not running or not listening where your config points, most likely stopped around the update or a reboot.

And do not get sidetracked by port 0, that is the correct value when the host is a unix socket, Nextcloud sets it itself in that case. The port is fine, the server behind it is what is missing.

Get Redis back up and reachable and everything comes back on its own. Quick check on the server: is the service running, and does redis-cli ping answer PONG.

Thanks on your advice now i change port to 0 and it will not let redis-server run on this port if i change it to 6379 it works redis but not nextcloud i need to mention that i have also upgraded to latest redis with out any luck

Port 0 is not actually a networking port. As the comment in /etc/redis/redis.conf explains:

# Accept connections on the specified port, default is 6379 (IANA #815344).
# If port 0 is specified Redis will not listen on a TCP socket.
port 0

This means that if you’ve set Redis to port 0, you also need to configure a Unix socket in redis.conf, for example:

# Unix socket.

# Specify the path for the Unix socket that will be used to listen for
# incoming connections. There is no default, so Redis will not listen
# on a Unix socket unless one is specified.

unixsocket /var/run/redis/redis-server.sock

That, in turn, means your Nextcloud config.php should not contain an FQDN, localhost, or an IP address for the Redis host. Instead, it should point to the Unix socket path, for example:

If you actually want Nextcloud to connect to Redis over TCP (e.g. via localhost / 127.0.0.1 or another host), then Redis needs to listen on a TCP port (typically 6379) instead of 0.

now sync is working only thing is APP part it says “it down at the moment please try later” but no error is coming in nextcloud log

and also MEMCACHED need to be configured
