Is there a way to change the presentation of search results within the browser?
We mostly search for text within PDF files. The results of a search is a list of files. When I click on one of the results, a new browser tab is opened with the file being selected in the folder it resides. I have to click once again on that file to have the content being displayed in the inline PDF viewer.
If it’s not the right file, I have to close that preview, then the browser tab. Then I go back to the tab with the search results and repeat the same with the next entry.
This is cumbersome.
Ideally, what would be better is to click on the search result and within the same browser tab/window, the PDF would be shown.
It would be great to have the same behaviour like in Windows 10 Explorer with the File Preview enabled. See arbitrary example in the screenshot below.
Can this be done? If yes, how?
