Since updating to nc 14.x i have seen that there is a timeout for password entry when updating apps. I am not sure what that timeout is there for, but it seems to be something arround 3 seconds, which is annoying if one has a bit more complex password and especially if it needs to be typed in on a mobile device (2thumbtyping) i have no idea where that timeout can be adjusted, but i think it should generally be extended to something like 10 seconds instead if it is neccessary at all.
