Password App error "unable to complete request"

Hello,

I’m using a managed Nextcloud from Hetzner (Nextcloud Hub 26 Winter, 33.0.6). Yesterday I noticed that the Password App (Version 2026.7.20) is no longer working and no longer contains any passwords. When I click on the Password App in the Nextcloud Web Interface, the message “unable to complete request” appears in the top right corner. Is anyone else having the same problem, and what can I do to get the app working properly again?

I’ve noticed the same behaviour, also hosted NC instance at Hetzner.
I want to add: I am able to access all passwords that are NOT saved in a folder.
Also, I am able to access all passwords (including them saved in folders) from the Passwords iOS app.

Thanks for your message. I’m having the same issue, but that’s not a solution—neither backup nor restore are possible through the NC interface!

I’ve created a bug ticket here, hoping that someone has a solution.

My Passwords app is working again :grinning_face: Here’s what I did:

1. Disable Passwords (2026.7.20)

2. Disable Default Encryption Module (2.21.0)

3. Delete/uninstall Passwords (2026.7.20) without deleting any data or the database!

4. Enable Default Encryption Module (2.21.0)

5. Install Passwords (2026.7.20)

6. Passwords is working again, and all passwords are still there
