Order of updating OS, Nextcloud itself, Nextcloud apps

Nextcloud 27 running on Debian.

Do I update Debian first (apt-get …) or Nextcloud using the internal updater or is it necessary to update all the apps first?

How to proceed if Debian sources offer a new Nextcloud version – update everything except for Nextcloud? But what if I get a new php version by upgrading from Debian sources?

I need to comprehend that, so if someone could give some hints: Thank you!

Unless you’re doing a dist upgrade, Debian updates will just be minor fixes within a given major release.

This isn’t relevant since Nextcloud Server isn’t a package in Debian.
