Opcache warnings after update

I just updated to Nextcloud 13.0.2, and I’m getting some warnings that weren’t there before. Specifically, this one about opcache:

The PHP OPcache is not properly configured. For better performance it is recommended to use the following settings in the `php.ini` :

opcache.enable=1
opcache.enable_cli=1
... etc.

I already have these settings enabled in my php.ini.
Why am I getting this warning?
( PHP Version 5.6.35)

well the php.ini was in my html root, so I tried copying it to my nextcloud folder. Now I’m getting Internal Server Error. I took the file back out, but Nextcloud is still broken.

Restart apache and see if the 500 persists. If it does, get logs.

I requested a restart. There was nothing in the logs.

What logs did you inspect?

cpanel error log

See the support template as follows for what we’d need to see in order to troubleshoot, the CPanel logs are rarely useful :frowning:. Anything you can’t access directly will likely need to be obtained via your webhost.
