[OJSXC] Online status of users not visible - also no user information loadable

Hi everyone,

I hope you can help. I just upgraded to Nextcloud 12 and enjoyed seeing the App “JavaScript XMPP Chat” (ojsxc).
It lists all the users of my server and I can perfectly chat with everyone.

Unfortunately the online status of the users is not shown. So there never appears the green dot on the user icons.
When I change the option to “hide offline users”, the list is empty even though other users are definitely online and I’m chatting with them.

What can I do to make the online status of users work?

I set my log level to debug already and the only related entry is:

{"reqId":"ChaLtPkpNt32tQoNVF4M","level":0,"time":"2017-05-26T12:39:24+01:00","remoteAddr":"127.0.0.1","user":"admin","app":"core","method":"GET","url":"\/login\/selectchallenge?redirect_url=\/apps\/ojsxc\/http-bind","message":"Scss is disabled for \/var\/www\/nextcloud\/core\/css\/server.scss, ignoring","userAgent":"Mozilla\/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:53.0) Gecko\/20100101 Firefox\/53.0","version":"12.0.0.29}
{"reqId":"ChaLtPkpNt32tQoNVF4M","level":0,"time":"2017-05-26T12:39:24+01:00","remoteAddr":"127.0.0.1","user":"admin","app":"core","method":"GET","url":"\/login\/selectchallenge?redirect_url=\/apps\/ojsxc\/http-bind","message":"Scss is disabled for \/var\/www\/nextcloud\/core\/css\/share.scss, ignoring","userAgent":"Mozilla\/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:53.0) Gecko\/20100101 Firefox\/53.0","version":"12.0.0.29"}

In the browser console I see hundreds of messages like:

These requests start endlessly. It always has the status 200 (OK).

I have no clue, that I can do, to solve this problem.

Hi, thanks for checking out the app! The continuous requests to http-bind is normal, but there slipped a little bug in the release which makes the request too fast. (it should wait for about 10seconds, now only for one 1 second). This should be fixed in: https://github.com/nextcloud/jsxc.nextcloud/pull/18.

I can reproduce the issue with the presence and will have a look at this.

Hi @LEDfan

Thank you very much for your reply and looking into this.

While I’m afraid to update the files manually by myself and break something, do you know when you release a new version of that app, which contains the fix? I would wait for the new release if it’s not too far in the future.

Thanks a lot.

Hi @LEDfan,

While I couldn’t await the feature to work, I changed the code in lib/db/stanzamapper.php like you did here:

For the first time I see the user’s online status in form of a green dot now. Unfortunately I see a user as online (available) although he is offline.
Furthermore I can also request a part the user information. However within the user information some information is still requested endlessly:

The last point “Bitte warten…” means “Please wait…”.

So it doesn’t run smoothly right now. Also chat messages are not transmitted reliably. About 65% of the messages reach the other user right now.
Just wanted to let you know. Please let me know if I can help analyze and debug this issue.

We have to test some other fixes, but we think we are able to release a new version this week. Thanks for testing and reporting :thumbsup:.
