No file activity shown for users with numeric uid

Summary of the issue you are facing:

Users with a number only uid do not get any file activity log in the activities app.

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. create a user e.g. “464573”
  2. create or change some file
  3. go to activity app → no entry, also no mail is sent

Nextcloud

Please provide the log entries from your Nextcloud log that are generated during the time of problem (via the Copy raw option from Administration settings->Logging screen or from your nextcloud.log located in your data directory). Feel free to use a pastebin/gist service if necessary.

I can’t repro..

  • I created new user 314314, logged in an created new office file.
  • later I shared this file with existing user and edit is one more time.
  • I see this changes as 314314 user
  • and as existing user as well! (if notifications settings are right " A file or folder has been changed" → Push is ticked)

the only relevant difference might be - I use user_oidc for login but I don’t think this is relevant - user UID is numeric-only
