No access to Samba or FTP in Nextcloud Box

Hi there,
I have a Nextcloud Box with a Raspberry PI 3 and Ubuntu Core.

I tried to add External Storage via FTP or Samba and seems not installed.

I have this message:

The FTP support in PHP is not enabled or installed. Mounting of “FTP” is not possible. Please ask your system administrator to install it.
“smbclient” is not installed. Mounting of “SMB / CIFS”, “SMB / CIFS using OC login” is not possible. Please ask your system administrator to install it.>

Seems is missing the Samba package in the OS. As the is no Snappy package for Samba, does anybody has a suggestion to enable this options?

Thanks

Hi,

regarding FTP you have to enable FTP in the php.ini. Just add extension=ftp.so somewhere. See also:

https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/14/admin_manual/configuration_files/external_storage/ftp.html

On this page it says that allow_url_fopen has to be enabled, also in php.ini.

The thing is: IT STILL DOES NOT WORK. CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE?

Thx,
Martin

Hi,

Thanks for the Feedback. I just added access to the FTP in the Nextcloud. The Version 13 is enabled by default and works.

Samba stills not supported out of the box. And still no snap for Ubuntu Core.

For my case for now FTP helps me to move forward.

Thanks for the reply and help,.

Can you please how you added it?

Please open an own thread with your problem. Fill out the form e.g. for Nextcloud version, operating system, … And post screenshots.
