I have 4GB RAM (and it isn’t full), 12GB swap (and 3GBs are zram), 2core (with multithreading, doesn’t matter if on or off) up to 2GHz.
I had 10MB/s bevore. I installed some apps but those that might affect all in any way are disabled now

The webinterface loads quickly?
Is it for all files, or does it start at a certain size? (10 MB was used as chunk size for some clients)
I’d try to put just something directly on the webserver without Nextcloud (or a separate vhost), just to check that there is no network issue.
If that doesn’t help, you can try to increase the log level if there is more information.

if not properly activated for command line, it can use 100% of CPU but normally just in command line. I’d try that quickly as well.
Uploading works fine, but the speed decreases and when a new chunk is uhm opened then it works faster but just shortly. The best fix is to set the chunk size to 1.5MB or 2MB if you don’t have hs2
The problem is then I have 2.4 MB/s and not these 10 I had.
Webinterface loads very quick as you can self-check (but when you visit the 1. time the HDD is starting up wich needs some seconds so it might be a bit slower. Just reload the page) (you might have to register if you want more details)
Every file that is larger than ca. 2MB it starts slowing down except the chunk size is 2MB or lower
How do I configure it correctly?

So uploading you have a good speed? What kind of internet connection do you have (client and server-side)?
Download is bad via web-browser, direct webdav, …?
If I understand correctly, your CPU is raising to 100% and you are not limited by network or RAM?
No hints in your logs?
My upload speed is 2MB as I sayd but it was 10MB
Uploads also don’t work
I’ll go and check out the logs
I disabled all new apps and I had antivirus app but then a clamav process would have to eat all cpu not an apache -k start

Recommended min limit for php memory size is 512 MB, here you have 128! Why is connecting to php-fpm socket failing so often? Is the process killed or not responding? Or the number of processes/children is limited?
what is this httpd-UDS backend?
If modsecurity is not configured properly, it can create strange problems. Still under owncloud they tried to established a ruleset for modsecurity but I don’t know if there is a working ruleset somewhere…

Perhaps not now, but it has shown to be problematic in the past, so I’d keep that in mind later for other problems.
Php often has different config files, for the apache module, the fpm-* and cli. In .htaccess or apache configs, you can change again the values, so it’s helpful to check with a phpinfo() script which value is set and which config file is used.
Also memory errors? The standard apache php module is probably easier to set up (Installation on Linux — Nextcloud latest Administration Manual latest documentation )

Yes. But if it stops the running upload, you can get the problem you are seeing.
The recommended limit of >512 MB RAM exists already for some time. I can’t tell you which part needs that amount of resources. Perhaps you can find some hints in the bug tracker or code…
I now tried to download a while and I can say that it is possible to download all
Once the RAM is full kswapd is swapping all the files. It takes very long to load a part of the file wich is quite special (HDD is almost Isle). Once loaded the remaining files get compressed into zRAM and swap. Then the download continues very slow with high CPU usage. During the time the file is loading the Apache process has lower CPU usage. I canceled the download at ~ 95 % as I wanted to do someting else. I couldn’t do anything because of high CPU usage and low free RAM
I noticed that the Apache process wasn’t using much CPU anymore or completely disappeared. Also I noticed that just a bit of RAM got free. I had to wait ~30mins until the 1-2GB of RAM that was used got free. Much still was in the swap - not swapping process that made the effort to free swap
Maybe this is partically a problem with the cache
Anybody knows what to do?
