Although this topic is almost 4 years old - I want to repeat this compliment to NextcloudPi.
I just updated NextcloudPi to version v1.53.2 which supports Nextcloud 28.0.3 now officially. Both updates (NCP and NC) worked like a charm. Thank you very much @theCalcaholic and @ZendaiOwl for maintaining and developing NextcloudPi!
