Getting help

In order to help you as efficiently (and quickly!) as possible, please fill in as much of the below requested information as you can.

Before clicking submit: Please check if your query is already addressed via the following resources:

(Utilizing these existing resources is typically faster. It also helps reduce the load on our generous volunteers while elevating the signal to noise ratio of the forums otherwise arising from the same queries being posted repeatedly).

Some or all of the below information will be requested if it isn’t supplied; for fastest response please provide as much as you can.

The Basics

    • 8.3
  • When did this problem seem to first start?
    • After upgrading to version 31.0.0
  • Are you using CloudfIare, mod_security, or similar? (Yes / No)
    • No

Summary of the issue you are facing:

When I try to add new link there is no more option for that like it use to be…; see the screenshot

Those are not built-in into Nextcloud. As such they are not “missing.”

What you are pointing out is an app: Link Editor.
As far as I can tell, last version will work in NC30, but has not been tested for NC31.
This suggests that it won’t work for NC31. Hence not showing up.

Go into your Apps and check if you can enable it, if it is not. If it is already enabled than it stands to reason that NC31 broke it. You would have gotten a list of apps that could break before you updated, this app would have been listed there.

You will have to wait until the Dev updates it, or you can go into the App folder and change the range of versions it works on. Keep in mind that if the app is actually broken, doing this will not make a difference, or could make things worse.

You can search online for ways on how to do it, if you want to try. Otherwise, wait until it gets updated.

Cheers.

Hello @DuffyCloud
thank you for your reply.
I didn’t realise that this options are created from the app “Link editor”.
Yes, the app “Link editor” was dissabled since it’s last suported NC version is ver. 30.x.x
I tried and I enabled the app and it seams to work OK. The options to add the links are back again and working fine.

Thank you very much.

I was a bit too early too happy.
The creation of new links is working but when I try to open it or edit it there is an error…:
It won’t open:

And the Error after clicking on Close button:

It looks like we have to wait for an update of Link editor app
:unamused: :weary:

The app store entry has a link for reporting problems with the app. I suggest reporting it there so the maintainer sees it.

@jtr , thanks for suggestion.
Done.
