Which general topic do you have
Hi everyone,
Following the recent “Nextcloud Talk Munich” event, it seems that native SIP integration with incoming phone calls might now be possible in Nextcloud Talk.
However, I haven’t been able to find any official information about it.
Does anyone have more details? Is this still a Struktur AG-only solution, or has it been integrated directly into Nextcloud Talk?
With Nextcloud Talk Phone, the administrator can give unique extensions or phone numbers to each user on the server, so when they receive a call, they can pick up easily in Nextcloud Talk. And when they are out-of-office, the call will be automatically redirected to their replacement!
This requires a SIP service – Nextcloud supports a range of options. Contact us to help you pick!
I do not understand if NextCloud Talk Phone is a new component or just the Mobile app.
But I couldn’t find any more information regarding it, so I’m afraid it’s still the same closed component as before…
Yes the sip part requires a license. The new part of this is ability to dial in to any user. Before it has had dial in to certain channels and dial out.
However as I understand it there is no free solution for this like the High Performance backend. This configuration is intended to be used by customers who pay for the SIP integration.
Yes, it seems to be the case that SIP is only possible with HPB. It’s a pity that this is never mentioned in presentations. Maybe someone from Nextcloud GmbH is reading along and the next presentation can differentiate more between free software / end users and business users. Perhaps it was mentioned. But unfortunately I didn’t consciously notice a corresponding comment.
I have HPB Selfhosted, also an opensource PBX is running and working. Now how can i integrate my PBX or SIP to nextcloud talk so that people on talk can also recieve calls from PBX system
