Nextcloud Talk App still not handling calls correctly on Android and AOSP devices

Hi all,

We are experiencing a reproducible issue with the latest Nextcloud Talk Android app.

Setup:

  • Nextcloud Talk works perfectly between PC browsers/apps

  • Talk also works correctly in the browser on our Android and AOSP devices

  • Problem only occurs in the native Android Talk app

Symptoms:

  • Incoming call appears normally

  • When the receiver answers, the caller immediately sees that the receiver left/hung up

  • The receiver gets a message like “you left the conversation”

  • At the same time, the Android app keeps ringing and still shows the incoming call screen

Battery optimization is disabled and phone integration is already turned off.

This strongly looks like a Talk Android call-state/ringtone/signaling bug rather than a TURN/STUN/server issue, because browser-based Talk works fine on the same devices.

Are others seeing this on recent Android versions as well?

Messaging seems to work ok.
