- Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Yes / No):
- No
- When did this problem seem to first start?
- Last time I tried updating NC
- Installation method (e.g. AlO, NCP, Bare Metal/Archive, etc.)
- Yunohost
- Are you using CloudfIare, mod_security, or similar? (Yes / No)
- No
Summary of the issue you are facing:
After I updated Nextcloud server, none of my clients log in. When accessing with browser, I get one of three things.
- Just an “Error” with nothing else on it
- It’s saying I’ve done too many login attempts while still providing a login screen
- It says “too many requests” and to contact administrator. I’m not sure of the exact wording as this is for some reason in Finnish.
In nextcloud.log I can see my devices are trying to log in, but I cannot interpret why it’s failing.
After trying to access NC from the browser, the whole Yunohost server freezes, maybe for about 5 minutes, and I cannot access web UI or any of my other services, I just get a “connection timed out” . If I don’t try to access NC, everything else seems to function normally.
This has happened twice now, first from updating 30.0.4 → 30.0.5.
I coud not fix it so I used a backup to restore 30.0.4. Now I updated to 30.0.6 and it seems to be the exact same issue.
Log entries
Nextcloud
last 100 rows of nextcloud.log
192.168.2.118 is my desktop. If you guys have an easy way of making the log file more readable, let me know how because I couldn’t find any other way than Excel, but you can’t upload a spreadsheet here.
Web Browser
I do not see anything wrong in the inspector
Web server / Reverse Proxy
I don’t know which to provide, there are so many in /var/log/nginx/ and none seem to have anything important
Configuration
Nextcloud
Is it normal that I have to run occ commands as root? I dont think I had to before. I just get Sorry, user catmin is not allowed to execute '/usr/bin/php /var/www/nextcloud/occ app:list' as nextcloud on myservername
