Hello everyone,
I am using Nextcloud Snap on my own Ubuntu server and cannot get Nextcloud Office to work. I have the following versions:
Nextcloud Snap 30.0.5
Collabora Online - Built-in CODE Server Version 24.4.1302
Nextcloud Office Version 8.5.4
I have already searched this forum and tried all the suggested solutions, but nothing has helped.
For the past two years, I’ve had the problem that documents take forever to load and won’t open in the smartphone app (I’ve already resigned myself to this…).
More recently, however, I can’t even open documents in the browser. I get the error message:
“Loading failed, please try again later.”
I have already tried the following:
Uninstalling the Collabora (Code) server and Nextcloud Office
Ensuring libfuse2 is installed
Confirming that the WOPI entry contains my external IP address
I have already worked through the guide without success.
Pull request 3023 has nothing to do with my problem; at least, I can’t see any solution there (except for updating, but Snap does that automatically).
Collabora CODE with Docker… I chose Nextcloud Snap because of its easy setup and installation. When I look at the steps for Collabora CODE with Docker, there are a lot of steps that I partly don’t understand.
Why are there problems with Nextcloud Office?
OnlyOffice works without any issues—I just can’t edit documents in the free version, but opening them works…
I have also already changed the host file and now have two entries there: one for 127.0.0.1 (localhost) and one for 127.0.1.1 (my domain name).
My Hosts file:
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.1.1 domain-name.xyz
The following lines are desirable for IPv6 capable hosts
thats correct, it was merely pointing out, that there are no known issues and by following the guide it should work if you’ve setup everything correctly
this seems strange… remove that address and check if it works… as far as I can remember that setting is mentioned nowhere in the documentation
I have also already left the WOPI field blank, but that didn’t help either.
I would rather not completely reinstall the entire cloud if that becomes necessary, as there are now 23 users set up, various public links have been shared, and it would be a huge effort to set everything up again from scratch…
