I am 100% new to Nextcloud, and I would like to use it for Photo backups from my phone instead of Google cloud storage, which already has filled up.
I found this older thread: How to move data directory after install
But it has a dropdown that says:
" Note that this HowTo does not apply to Nextcloud containers/appliances or the official Nextcloud VM from Hansson IT.
- If you use Nextcloud Snap, follow their official simple instructions: Change data directory to use another disk partition · nextcloud-snap/nextcloud-snap Wiki · GitHub
- If you use the Nextcloud Docker container, the GitHub page might give some hints as well: GitHub - nextcloud/docker: ⛴ Docker image of Nextcloud
- The official Nextcloud VM has the data already located on a separate ZFS partition, which you can easily raise in size or even add a new drive to the ZFS pool. Thanks for the hint @jeremy_fritzen.
- Also NextCloudPi might provide own solutions: GitHub - nextcloud/nextcloudpi:
Build code for NextcloudPi: Raspberry Pi, Odroid, Rock64, curl installer…"
I am running this setup on a NUC with attached USB storage which I already have passed thru to the OMV VM and was hoping that I could do the same with Nextcloud but I can not find any good information or videos on setting it up so that the photos are automatically uploaded to the attached storage.
I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
Thank you for reading.
