The issue you are facing:
I have 3TB of free space remaining (out of 4TB total) on my hard drive. However, when I try to synchronize files via the Nextcloud desktop app on Windows, I’m unable to transfer a file named MyVM.vdi (approximately 50GB in size). I get the error: “Disk space is low: Downloads that would reduce free space below 238 MB were skipped.”

Strangely, I was able to successfully upload around 100 videos totaling 80GB. I still have plenty of space left on my user quota: “374GB/1TB”. Additionally, my laptop, where the Nextcloud desktop app is installed, has approximately 30GB of free space.

Here are the different configuration points, with their values ​​defined from the truenas interface:

  • Max Upload Size (Giga Bytes) = 100
  • Max Execution Time (Seconds) = 120
  • PHP Memory Limit (Mega Bytes) = 256
  • Opcache Memory Consumption (Mega Bytes) = 512
  • Nginx Conf : Proxy timeouts (Seconds) = 60
  • Command : ffmpeg

Hi everyone,

I previously reported what I thought was a server-side issue, but it turned out to be a problem on the client side.

For some reason, Nextcloud insisted on downloading a second “conflict” version of my files. Even after resolving that, I’m experiencing a strange issue where I need an unusually large amount of free space on my local drive to sync files. For example, to sync a folder containing files of 10GB, 3GB, 50GB, and 25GB, I need about 50GB of free space (or even 51GB to be safe).
