    • after initial deployment. can log in and intereact with app, but once window is closed, the connection is refused when i try to navigate back to the application.

Summary of the issue you are facing:

i need help troubleshooting a cloud application i recently deployed following this documentation: Deploy Nextcloud on Ampere A1 on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

I successfully deployed and installed NextCloud onto the cloud server and was able to log into the application interact with it, however once I close the window and try to navigate back to the application, it says "This site refused to connect. ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED.

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. Follow above referenced documentation
  2. Login to Nextcloud
  3. Close browser window
  4. Re-open browser
  5. Navigate back to the application
  6. Should receive “connection_refused” error

Please provide the log entries from your Nextcloud log that are generated during the time of problem (via the Copy raw option from Administration settings->Logging screen or from your nextcloud.log located in your data directory). Feel free to use a pastebin/gist service if necessary.

Tips for increasing the likelihood of a response

  • Use the preformatted text formatting option in the editor for all log entries and configuration output.
  • If screenshots are useful, feel free to include them.
    • If possible, also include key error output in text form so it can be searched for.
  • Try to edit log output only minimally (if at all) so that it can be ran through analyzers / formatters by those trying to help you.

You still access through http://<your_public_ip>:8080?
Do you have the config.php? Since it is not a standard port, it might tend to use the default one, unless you configure it (perhaps it is done by this image).
If not it can help to check the webserver logs. If the webserver does not receive the request (and refuses the connection), it could be the firewall or something.
Or things like if you don’t specify http for the protocol, it uses https per default…
