Nextcloud no longer accessible

Hello everyone,

i have the problem that my Nextcloud is not reachable since an update and a connection cannot be established anymore. There is no synchronization anymore.
If I call the Nextcloud via Firefox, the following error appears:
"
Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator if this error reappears multiple times, please include the technical details below in your report.
More details can be found in the server log.
"

Unfortunately, the nextcloud.log is too large to be made available here, therefore only an excerpt.
Could there be a problem with doctrine or the database connection? How do I solve the problem?

Do you have any advice?

Thanks a lot!

Greetings

which os? web server? database? redis (yes/no)? what did you update?

did you check if all needed services (web server, database, redis, fpm-php, etal.) are running? you may check with systemctl status <service-name-here>

disk full? df -h

to make the nextcloud.log more readable you may delete it or move to nextcloud.log.old. a new one will be created when you reload the page in your browser.

I am far from being an expert, but I will try to answer your questions…
The computer runs Windows 7, the cloud runs on a webspace, so no server. I did a version upgrade, but that was some time ago. The cloud hasn’t worked for many months. I can’t say how the services are tested. That is beyond my knowledge. There is enough storage space (500 MB). I have renamed the old logfile, but the new one is still insanely large.

Please paste the output of

tail -f nextcloud.log | jq

this does not work, but can this help?

Then run

apt install jq

first and try again.

nope, does not work.

Hey @SilentNinja,

Looks like your operating system has been damaged. /etc/apt is the directory where information about packages is maintained. These directories were present when you installed and should still be there. Because obviously they are not anymore, something very bad happened to your OS. Because the OS is not reliable anymore, no application, Nextcloud or anything else, can be relied on.

Also, for damages to be as deep in the system, it will probably be better to re-start your server from scratch and restore your backups on it. Trying to fix this is more risk than benefit.

You have to run it as root of course

sudo apt install jq
