NextCloud Federation Icons

After enabling federation on local and remote sites, both sites are showing an orange icon in the federation status. Documentation shows examples of yellow, green and red but not orange. What does the orange icon signify. BTW, there are no errors in the log regarding the federation status shown in the NextCloud log. Locsite is version 20.0 (amd64, Ubuntu 20.04) and remote site is 19.X

Local site is Server version: Apache/2.4.41 (Ubuntu) with PHP 7.4.
Not sure on remote site.

Steps to replicate it:

  1. On fresh installation of NextCloud 20.0, enable federation. On remote site running 19.X enable federation.
  2. Trusted server shows as orange

Nothing added to NextCloud log.

‘trusted_domains’ =>
array (
0 => ‘localhost’,
1 => ‘we6acs.local.mesh’,
2 => ‘10.108.245.76’,
3 => ‘we6acs’,
4 => ‘10.59.57.67’,
5 => ‘km6slfnc.local.mesh’,

I’ve added both the DNS names and the IP address to the trusted server list. Rebooted and logged in. With no change to the status.

hello @Hamiltra and welcome to the community-forum of NC.

Thanks for finding your way to this place… :slight_smile:

I dunno what “orange” status means… Maybe it’s a brighter red? :wink:

But I have some additonal questions: How are these instances “signed”? Not signed at all? Self-signed, only? Singed with an official certficate?

Local side is not signed but will have to ask the admin on the remote site. My understanding is both sides are unsigned.

that could be THE problem here.

@Hamiltra

but take a look here -->

especially to the end of the chapter

Thanks for the page link. Looks like that might work and will test it out ASAP.
