Nextcloud + Docker + Virtualmin: Need help with installation

Hi community,

I hope this message finds you well. I am trying to install Nextcloud using Docker on a system that already has Virtualmin (Apache stack) installed. Could anyone guide me on the steps to achieve this successfully? I don’t know at the moment in which folders I have to put all the files.
When I create a new website for example, it creates always a new folder in the /home directory followed by the username which Virtualmin creates. Thinking like how it works, should I put the files into /home/nextcloud/ directory?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello,

I don’t think it would be a good idea. Since VirtualMin is supposed to have all the dependencies pre-installed for Nextcloud and it is already taking control of Port 80/443.

I think you should be trying out the nextcloud web installer for this server. That is meant for this kind of managed servers (Control Panel based setup)

If you really have to use Docker method, in that case VirtualMin needs to act like a reverse proxy and docker nextcloud needs to be on non standard web ports.

Thanks.
