I’ve recently encountered a strange behaviour on Nextcloud client.
The first occurrence was around a month or two ago, and it just happened again today.
Basically, my Nextcloud client “forgot” the end to end encryption mnemonic of my accounts (2 accounts on 2 different servers), and removed all the local directories with E2EE enabled.
The first time something similar happened, all the clients connected to my account (only had 1 at the time) forgot the key at the same time. It was 3 computers and 3 mobiles (Android and iPhone), where I’m the only user.
Hopefully I had the mnemonic saved somewhere else, so I managed to get my files back, even if I had to download several Gb of data that were removed when the mnemonic was forgotten.
I have no idea what happened exactly, I’ve been looking in the client logs to no avail for now, but since it already happened twice, I was wondering if someone already had the same issue.
