I have configured backup of contacts and calendar data on a regular basis. The backups are performed in the corresponding folders .Contacts-Backup and .Calendar-Backup but there are additional empty folders _Contacts-Backup and _Calendar-backup created. If deleted these will be created during the next backup.
I already found a ticket referring to this behaviour. I also configured the option “Windows compatible filenames”. But if I check the correspondig entries in config.php I can’t find an item that would prevent to use the dotted folders (resulting in creation of _ folders).
So I suppose it might be an implementation issue.
I’m currently running Nextcloud Android App 33.0.0 and NC Server version 32.0.6.1.

interested to know if you get this fixed, i have same issue here with both
I’ll try to disable the “Windows compatible filenames” option. Disabling this option is no solution because in environments with Windows Clients it’s quite usefull. If for one had troubles with sync on windows because of unsupported characters in unix filenames.
I’ll give a feedback if the option fixes it. Nevertheless the root cause should be solved.

I just ran the test and when “Windows compatible filenames” is deactivated the folders are no longer created. But that’s not the solution! Just the repo to be able to fix the problem.

Without option “Windows compatible filenames” no “_” named folders are created. But I noticed that, even daily back is configured, the backup is only run, when I enter the configuration dialogue.
