Hello! This is my first post here. I’m very new to Nextcloud and I don’t fully understand how it works in certain areas.
I just set up a Nextcloud server using Docker (CasaOS), and everything works fine with no warnings in the admin panel.
I then tried the Nextcloud Android app and noticed the auto-upload option. However, I encountered a problem after opening it. The photos and folders loaded fine, but something seems to break afterward. After I stop using the app, many Google apps and even web pages crash or fail to load at all. Some pages do load, but I can’t interact with them (I tried both Chromium and Firefox browsers, and experienced the same issue). It’s worth noting that the files upload correctly to the server, and the app itself works fine.
The only solution I found is to restart the phone. I tried to reproduce the bug again, and the same thing happened.
My current Android version is 15, and the Nextcloud app version is 3.34.0 RC2, downloaded from the F-Droid repository.
Nextcloud Android app version 3.34.0 RC2 was released on September 25, 2025, and is a pre-release (RC) version. This means it is NOT a FINAL Version but what others call a BETA-Test Version.
If you don’t want to experience things like that you shall only use Final Release Versions (NO RC in its Version-Name)
In F-Droid it shows this versios as “Suggested”, so I thought downgrading the app can be worse. Also in the Play Store, the version is the same (but without the RC) and is the stable channel, published with 2 days of difference between each platform.
Update: I replaced the F-droid version for the Play Store one. I reproduce the bug again and same issue happend. I will try another versions and see if that works.
Just as aditional info. The Nextcloud App in F-Droid is not fully identical to that in Google Play Store. I don’t know all details since i don’t use any of them but FolderSync on my Android Devices instead to sync with my Nextcloud. But if you read back in past forum entries here you wil find reports about sync problems with sepecific folders using the Google Play Store Version that could be fixed by using the F-Droid Version.
