The issue you are facing:
System was working fine, but this morning I noticed my computer was not syncing with the server, so when I tried logging in on the web browser to nexctloud.mydomain.com I receive an Internal Server error, so I then go to localipaddress:8080 but it's giving me the AIO Login screen asking for a password that I didn't save

Steps to replicate it:

restart nextcloud aio docker containers
direct browser to nextcloud.mydomain.com
when logging in with admin user and pass I get the below message:

## Internal Server Error

The server was unable to complete your request.

If this happens again, please send the technical details below to the server administrator.

Also, when going to https://localipaddress:8080 I get the Nextcloud AIO Login screen, but I didn't save that password, so I don't have it.

Thank you. I was able to obtain the password and login to the AIO interface.

Nevertheless, after logging in, I stopped and restarted all containers, and then tried again going to nextcloud.mydomain.com and after logging in with admin user and password I get the following Internal Server Error screen:

I guess you will need to check the nextcloud log which is usually stored in /var/lib/docker/volumes/nextcloud_aio_nextcloud/_data/data/nextcloud.log

These are the latest timestamps on that log. But I can’t figure out if any of these is causing the problem.
I am trying to log in using the admin account, which is not an LDAP account, but a local account.

If I understand correctly the issue seems to be that it can’t connect with the LDAP server, which is odd since this has been working without a problem for a couple months and nothing has changed (that I know of). The ldap server is pingable from withing the nextcloud-aio-nextcloud container

indeed it seems the problem stems from nextcloud not being able to communicate with the LDAP server…

I disabled the LDAP configuration using the occ command sudo -u www-data php occ ldap:set-config s01 ldapConfigurationActive 0 as suggested in this post and I can now login using the local admin user, although all ldap users dont show up as users on the system.

According to that post I am thinking this could be some sort of ssl certificate issue since I do have LDAPS configured.

The LDAP server is behind a reverse proxy that automatically renews the letsencypt certificate.

If the reverse proxy renewed the certificate for the ldap subdomain, do I need to do anything in Nextcloud?

Problem solved !

I first verified that the nextcloud container was able to communicate with the LDAP server on port 636 by issuing the following command from withing the nextcloud-aio-nextcloud container:

543a7599cc5:/var/www/html# nc -vz ldap.mydomain.com 636
Connection to ldap.mydomain.com (136.28.46.40) 636 port [tcp/ldaps] succeeded!

I then simply restarted the LDAP server and then everything worked back again so all users can log in to Nextcloud.
