Nextcloud 31 relase how to update

Not showing the nextcloud latest version in admin panel 31 the new hub 10 release its showing updated 30.6 still running how can i update to latest version

Just wait until the new version appears there.

In principle, you should not necessarily upgrade the version on the first days of the release, as there are still bugs. The updates are also spread over several weeks due to performance. Many people only switch to Nextcloud 31.0.1, for example. Some companies only update to Nextcloud 31 when Nextcloud 32 has already been released. In the end, however, you have to judge for yourself how important data and stability really are to you.

If you really can’t or don’t want to wait, there is a trick (which isn’t really secret either), but I won’t post it here. If you are really interested search the internet or send me a PN.

It is a topic often discussed (e.g. Nextcloud 30 been rolled out over the "stable" channel although I think it's still unstable).

If you want brand new things, a test setup to play around is really a useful and you can help the community tremendously.

For new major versions, don’t worry to wait for a couple of days. Regarding bugs and issues, you are in general safer with a more conservative strategy. However, some environments are much more critical and problematic (if you rely on many apps and/or links to external services, which are much less tested in advance) than a basic setup (files, calendar, contacts).

Seriously?

If there was a release, it should be showing. Not exactly the answer people want to hear from the community or anyone associated with this project to be honest. It doesn’t inspire confidence in the project, period.

Uhm… Riiight.

Why bother with ANY of that if you’ve got that class of problems?

With that take, I should be running 19, right?

C’mon people this is hang your head in shame stuff for answers to people.

If I was an Enterprise customer of the stuff and saw this, I’d run. Seriously. This is a poor showing on our part here.

Couple of days, eh?

9 now.

I’ll say this again…this is embarrassing.

There is absolutely no reason to upgrade to the brand new version.

Because experience shows that it has bugs over and over again and that leads to problems that you don’t want or need.

It is best to wait for version X.1 or better X.2.

Yes, this is definitely too much.

Do you have access to the command line, where you can trigger the updater app:

sudo -u www-data php updater/updater.phar

This way, it should directly show if the check for new version fails (e.g. why connection cannot be established).
If not, I’d try to check the logfiles when you open the admin page if there are errors popping up.

In the past, it has not been showing, when some requirements were not met. But this time, there are no new requirements for e.g. the php version.

New releases are staged. This is all documented in the Admin Manual.
