New domain name - how to adjust desktop client?

Hello all,

I have just switched from a free DuckDNS domain name to a paid one. NC seems to be working well via the new domain name but I wondered what was the best way to adjust the desktop clients.

Can i simply log out of the account, log into the new one and re-sync since all my stuff is already on the local machine?

Thanks,
Nick.

Does your Nextcloud with new domain still contain all files?

Open Desktop client, click on button “Account” and “Logout”.
Edit C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Nextcloud\Nextcloud.cfg with Notepad and replace under [Accounts] the old domain by the new one.
Save and exit Notepad.

Now login with your desktop-client.

Under Android you will need to create a new profile and delete the old one.

The desktop-client now will compare alle files and only uploads resp. downloads new and modified files.

Hi there,

Thank you for your help here.

I should have said that I am using Linux Mint on the desktop and there is a laptop that uses OSX.

Thanks again,
Nick.

Should work similar, but I don’t know. where to find the nextcloud.cfg in Linux or OSX.

No problem and thank you again - I will see what i can find.
