On cli

sudo raspinfo

gives hints on your software revisions.

ncp
To get a clou what are the main changes.
NC - Maintenance and Release Schedule
NC - Releases and PHP versions

cat /etc/os-release

Be aware a distro-upgrade should lay on your way.
Get accustomned to the update process of the component on the cli/webui and start with backups.
We are holding hands.

Unfortunately, I didn’t understand what you were trying to explain with the different links.

It’s an oversight of how components should fit.
I would avoid jumping in one step from ncp 1.53.1 to 1.55.3

sudo ncc status

May be your version is nc 27.x.x end of life,
I would try to upgrade ncp to 1.53.2 then update nc to 28 and so on.

sudo ncc status
  - installed: true
  - version: 28.0.12.2
  - versionstring: 28.0.12
  - edition:
  - maintenance: false
  - needsDbUpgrade: false
  - productname: Nextcloud
  - extendedSupport: false

Also, I don’t know of any way to choose which version to upgrade to.

Let’s take a look:;

php --version

And you are absolute right, the question is, why do you want to update?
Your cloud is Hub 7, 28.12.2 the latest revision, so it’s fine.
This Hub is going end of life end of this year, so you have to consider to upgrade to the next Hub 8 (29.0.9 the latest now).

php --version
PHP 8.1.18 (cli) (built: May 17 2023 15:59:20) (NTS)
Copyright (c) The PHP Group
Zend Engine v4.1.18, Copyright (c) Zend Technologies
with Zend OPcache v8.1.18, Copyright (c), by Zend Technologies

What did you do to get this error-message?

Until next year you must update your hub.
But first I would do the dist-upgrade debian 11 bullseye to debian 12 bookworm.
ncp-dist-upgrade

What did you do to get this error-message?

sudo ncp-update
Downloading updates

ERROR: Site nextcloud does not exist!

Until next year you must update your hub.

I know. That’s why i’m doing the updates…

But first I would do the dist-upgrade debian 11 bullseye to debian 12 bookworm.

There is a known issue on my version of ncp, it says that debian 11 is the latest recommended version. The issue has been fixed in v1.55.0

Oh, are you running this dietpi/proxmox thing? That’s to much for me, but then I recommend the discussion

ncp-dist-upgrade

Hi all,

I am having the same issue.

All started that the nextcloud wasnΒ΄t working. Then I did some updates and it was fine. I got a notification that the 1.55.3 is available and I tried to install it but it always failed. Then I recognized that my PHP version is quite old php7.1.x.

Unfortunately I then updated php to 8.3.12. and now of course I get the error when opening the nextcloud dashboard

β€œThis version of Nextcloud is not compatible with PHP>=8.2.
You are currently running 8.3.12.”

I tried now to update the nextcloud during different methods to get to a version where the installed php is supported. But every update attempt failes with the message

β€œDownloading updates
Performing updates
Installing template β€˜apache2/ncp.conf.sh’…
ERROR: Site nextcloud does not exist!
Error while applying update 1.53.1. Exiting…”

Can please somebody help me? I know, I screw up…

PS: I am using nextcloudpi on raspberry 3+

I don’t use proxmox, but the user’s problem on the github issue is not proxmox related.

I propose searching the web for error messages.
Some had the same problem, never heard of again, spooky.

Then let’s take a look:

sudo systemctl status

sudo sytemctl status apache2.service

We try to get better hints for further searches.

sudo systemctl status

Unfortunately, that’s the only result I can get.

TBH I don’t expect deeper knowledge about the failing services.
The web searches show me some in the same situation but no solution of the underlying problem. As ordinary user of ncp my advice is filing a bug-report on github and planing a workaround, setup a new instance and try to transfer data with backup/restore means provided by ncp.

Does anyone have any other ideas?
