Nc-backup-auto to external share

I am using Nextcloud with NCP. I would like to set nc-backup-auto to backup to an smb share. Would it work to edit the fstab on the pi so it automatically mounts the share and then just enter the local mount path in the “Destination Directory”?

I wanted to check first because I didn’t want to mess up my brand new NCP install or come to find out a month from now that the auto-backup wasn’t working.

Using fstab to mount the share should work.

You can run nc-backup manually first, to check if the backup is created correctly, before setting up nc-backup-auto
