Multiple accounts in Nextcloud

Hello, I’m migrating from ownCloud to Nextcloud. I have a silly problem, I think. Is there a way to simple configure multiple account into desktop app ? I mean, when I try to add a second account i have redirected on a web page which is giving me access only for my first account. I tried to log this second account using the bottom link on that same web page, but I got password problem. But I’m sure I have not password problem because configuring ownCloud app with this second account is just working good.

Can you explain how you create the new acounts? In the Web GUI from Nextcloud? Normally you must not re-login after creating a user. Maybe you can post some screenshots.

Also you can use the occ-command user:add in the terminal. Maybe you like it.

Thank you for your answer. I simply created the user via the web gui administration, I have no problem to create them. My problem is to have all these accounts on the same computer. It seems that the browser for the second account is not able to understand that I need to put in its credential and it got the first account one. So i’m in stuck :(.

It seems that you want to configure your Desktop Nextcloud Client (Linux). Do you really want to add the account at this software? Please post more information. Normally the second user is used on another Linux system or with another Linux account.

Well I was on a linux box but the problem is pretty the same with windows app.

in case login using browser doesn’t work this is likely because you active browser has authorized session for you first user already.

try opening the login dialog in a “private”/“incognito” mode

Sorry, but I don’t see any issue on the screenshot you posted… According to my limited knowledge of the Italian language, “Accedi” means log in, and it is perfectly normal that this message appears when you try to connect the client to your Nextcloud.

What happens when you click on the “Accedi” button?

In my case it takes me to the login screen of my Netxlcoud from which I could then log in to the corresponding account I would like to add to the client…

However, as @wwe already said, before you click on the button, you have to make sure that your browser isn’t already logged in to a different account on the same server.

Yes this is exactly the problem !

Then you have found the solution. Log the current user off in the browser before you try to add a new user to the client. I don’t think there is a way around this, because the client uses the browser in order to get the authentication token.

Solved, thank you. I logged out and than I was able to login once again with new profile. I had another issue but I think I will create a new thread.
